Artista processa Correios do Vaticano / Artist sues Vatican post office

A artista Alessia Babrow processou os correios do Vaticano alegando que eles usaram seu desenho estilo grafite com a imagem de Jesus para ilustrar 80.000 selos para celebrar a Páscoa de 2020. E por causa disso, o Vaticano estaria erroneamente lucrando com o seu trabalho e violando a intenção da sua arte. O processo, que busca cerca de 130.000 euros em danos, indica que o Vaticano nunca respondeu, oficialmente, às tentativas da artista de negociar um acordo depois que ela descobriu que haviam usado seu trabalho sem consentimento.

The artist Alessia Babrow sued the Vatican post office, alleging they used her graffiti-style Jesus draw to ilustrate 80.000 stamps to celebrate the Easter of 2020. And because of that, the Vatican is wrongfully profiting off her creativity and violating the intent of her artwork. The lawsuit, seeking about 130.000 euros in damages, said the Vatican never responded officially to Babrow’s attempts to negotiate a settlement after she discovered it had used her image without consent.
