A new set to my collection about the United Nations peace-keeping forces. At first sight, the stamps just celebrate the UN, but the surcharges are in honor of the UN Security Council resolutions on Cyprus, to send international peace-keeping blue helmets to stop tensions inside Cyprus. By the way, the peace-keeping mission still there, since 1964.

European countries have the Europa stamps and Brazil has the Mercosur stamps. Each year, since 1989, the five State members of Mercosur (Argentine, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and, since 2006, Venezuela) issue stamps with same topic to promote our southern organization. In the year of 2005, the commom topic was 'Local Writers' and the brazilian post office has chosen Erico Verissimo to celebrate his centenary birthday.
