I have found, on my collection, the brazilian stamp celebrating the bicentenary of the writer Christian Andersen, a beautiful drawing about the The Ugly Duckling.

12 de outubro, dia de Nossa Senhora de Aparecida, padroeira do Brasil.Our Lady Aparecida is the patron saint of Brazil, represented by a statue of the Virgin Mary located in the Basilica of Aparecida, in the city of Aparecida in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. In Portuguese the name is Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida (Our Lady of the Conception who Appeared). Our Lady of Aparecida is remembered by a national holiday on 12 October.

Ao fundo do selo aparece a Basílica de Nossa Senhora de Aparecida, em Aparecida do Norte, local da realização da V Conferência Geral do Episcopado Latino-americano e do Caribe, reunião que o papa abriu. O mais novo bloco emitido pelos Brasil sobre a Serra do Japi. Área de proteção ambiental no estado de São Paulo, é considerada pela Unesco Reserva da Biosfera do Cinturão Verde da Cidade de São Paulo. Nos selos estão representados o pássaro Saíra-amarela (Tangara cayana cayana) e a borboleta Consul fabius drurii. Também, impresso no bloco, está a logomarcaque faz referência ao Ano Internacional do Planeta Terra, evento instituído pela Unesco. The newest brazilian miniature sheet is about the Serra do Japi park, an Unesco Biosphere Reserve at Sao Paulo state. On the stamps we can see the bird Saíra-amarela (Tangara cayana cayana) and the butterfly Consul fabius drurii. Also printed on the miniature sheet, the symbol of the International Year of the Planet Earth, started by Unesco.

Os próximos selos brasileiros serão lançados no dia 22 de janeiro. Eles são sobre o bicentenário da chegada da família real portuguesa ao Brasil, os portugueses estavam fugindo da invasão a Portugal inicida por Napoleão Bonaparte.
The next brazilian stamps are going to be released on january 22nd. They are about the bicentenary of the arrival of the portuguese royal family on Brazil, they were escaping from Portugal because Napoleon Bonaparte was invading their country.
