Esta data foi escolhida para homenagear a adoção e a proclamação pela Assembléia Geral das Nações Unidas, em 10 de dezembro de 1948, da Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos, a primeira enunciação global dos Direitos Humanos. O tema para 2008 é "Dignidade e justiça para todos nós".December 10th was chosen to honour the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on December 10th, 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the first global convention on Human Rights. Centenário da Cruz Vermelha Brasileira. Infelizmente, não tivemos nenhuma emissão comemorativa homenageando esta importante organização de defesa dos Direitos Humanos. Abaixo, a folhinha que celebrou os quarenta anos da organização em 1948. Notem que o desenho usado para ilustrar a folha é o mesmo que foi utilizado na série de selos sobre a Cruz Vermelha em 1938. The Brazilian Red is celebrating its centenary today. Unfortunately, any stamp was issued to remember this important organization, defender of the Human Rights worldwide. Above, the postmark celebrating the 40th anniversary of the brazilian Red Cross, on 1948. The desing of the drawing, on the sheet, was used before on a set of stamps about the pan american conference of the Red Cross, on 1938.

No último mês de junho, a Administração Postal das Nações Unidas (em inglês, UNPA) emitiu seis selos comemorativos sobre a "Convenção sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência". A Convenção, explicada pela página da internet da UNPA, "pretende ser um instrumentofos direitos humanos com uma explícita dimensão de desenvolvimento social. Ela adota uma larga categorização de pessoas com deficiências e rearfima que todas as pessoas com todos os tipos de deficiêncas têm que o benefício todos os direitos humanos e liberdades fundamentais." Esta é a minha primeira carta da sede das Nações Unidas na Áustria. Last june, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) issued six commemorative stamps on the theme “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”. The Convention, explained by the UNPA site, "is intended as a human rights instrument with an explicit, social development dimension. It adopts a broad categorization of persons with disabilities and reaffirms that all persons with all types of disabilities must enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms." República da Macedônia - Republic of Macedonia

Uma ótima carta enviada ao Brasil da Macedônia, postada em Skopje, em novembro de 2008. O selo à esquerda, emitido em 04 de outubro de 2007, comemora o qüinquagésimo aniversário do Sputnik 1, o primeiro satélite russo, que foi lançado em 1957. Os outros dois selos, à direita, foram emitidos em setembro de 2006. são partes do conjunto "Fauna da Macedônia" e mostram as conchas Ancylus scalariformis Stanković & Radoman e Macedopyrgula pavlovici Polinski.Great cover sent to Brazil from Macedonia, posted in Skopje, on November 06, 2008. The stamp on the left, issued on october 4, 2007, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first russian satellite, Sputnik 1, which was launched on that date in 1957. The two stamps, on the right side, were issued on September 06, 2006.
