The Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10th — the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The 2021 theme is EQUALITY - Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights.

Spain - Racial issues / Espanha - questões raciais

On May 25, in the European month of diversity and coinciding with the first year after the assassination of George Floyd by a white policeman (in Minneapolis, USA), the Spanish Post Office decided to issue four personalized (tusello) stamps to raise awareness about diversity racial, inclusion and equal rights. They decided to depict the black color with the lowest value stamp. After several criticisms against the stamps, they removed them from the Post Office website.

Em 25 de maio, no mês europeu da diversidade e coincidindo com o primeiro ano após o assassinato de George Floyd por um policial branco (em Mineápolis, nos EUA), os Correios da Espanha decidiram lançar quatro selos personalizados (tusello) para aumentar a consciência sobre a diversidade racial, a inclusão e a igualdade de direitos. Ocorre que decidiram representar a cor preta com o menor valor, após diversas críticas, retiram os selos de venda da página da internet dos Correios.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

O Dia Internacional em Memória do Holocausto é um dia de celebração da memória das vítimas do Holocausto. 27 de janeiro foi a data, em 1945, que o maior campo de concentração em Auschwitz-Birkenau (Polônia) foi liberado pelas tropas soviéticas.The International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a day to celebrate the memory of Holocaust victims. On January 27th, 1945, that the largest concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau (Poland) was liberated by the Soviet Army.

No último mês de junho, a Administração Postal das Nações Unidas (em inglês, UNPA) emitiu seis selos comemorativos sobre a "Convenção sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência". A Convenção, explicada pela página da internet da UNPA, "pretende ser um instrumentofos direitos humanos com uma explícita dimensão de desenvolvimento social. Ela adota uma larga categorização de pessoas com deficiências e rearfima que todas as pessoas com todos os tipos de deficiêncas têm que o benefício todos os direitos humanos e liberdades fundamentais." Esta é a minha primeira carta da sede das Nações Unidas na Áustria. Last june, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) issued six commemorative stamps on the theme “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”. The Convention, explained by the UNPA site, "is intended as a human rights instrument with an explicit, social development dimension. It adopts a broad categorization of persons with disabilities and reaffirms that all persons with all types of disabilities must enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms."
